My Art Projects Inspired by Native American artists

Moccasins made with coaching from a
Tlingit artist Shelly Laws  →

I did this beadwork but did not make the moccasins.
I went with the wheel of 4 colors common to
Plains Tribes after visiting the Rosebud and Pine Ridge
Reservations and meeting some Lakota Sioux artists.
I put a turtle in the middle to represent my background.
I made this Stanford medallion for the love of my life,
a Miwok and Choctaw man because he love Stanford
so much. Medallion necklace beading pattern were
inspired by female artists at Stanford Powwow.

First time wearing my first medallion.

A few in progress pictures of my first medallion project.

My first peyote stitch ring.
Inspired by Miwok artist Dahkota Brown.

Cherokee water symbol - still in progress
inspired by Cherokee artist Martha Berry
